You can do just about anything with this blog. Follow it, leave a comment, ask a question, heart it, feed your RSS, email me, search inside, browse the archive, re-blog, etc etc. Unfortunately there's no "hate it" or "sigh and roll your eyes" buttons. In such circumstances (and I won't hold it against you) the little "x" at the top of your browser is always useful.

Liam winning gold today in the 25 meter free style, by just a whisker.  He’s in lane two, near the botton of the screen.  He’s such a reserved little boy, I never picked him for being so competitive.  But there he is, drilling down the pool with the same determination that has seen him waking me up at 6am for the past two weeks so I could take him down to the pool to train.  So proud of him.  This is the stuff of why.

Brilliant, good, and funny

Bobbie counting in Arabic…

Bobbie sings a beautiful Phillipino song she learnt from Jennifer…

5inKenya - Part 4.  The final video takes in our last two days, which we spent in the capital of Nairobi.  Highlights include feeding the Giraffes (a kind of “Take the Pellets Right Out Of My Mouth” gig).  We also spent time at the Elephant Orphanage, a refuge and release centre for Elephants who lose or become separated from their herds in the wild.

5inKenya - Part 3.   This was one of the highlights of the whole trip and although I’m no photographer, in my defense I can only say that it is extremely difficult not to shake when a Leopard saunters over to your car to look you plain in the eyes.  Likewise, when you’re filming a Wildebeest who can’t see the croc top right of the screen, I regret to say it takes rather more skill than I possess to keep the camera steady.

5inKenya - Part 2.  We woke up early on our final day in Mombasa and flew on a beautiful DC3 that you might otherwise only find in a museum.  We spent the afternoon on Safari that day, saw our first Lions, Elephants and Giraffes.  We set up camp on the Siana Conservancy, just off the Mara reserve.

5inKenya - Part 1.  It took us all day to travel from Abu Dhabi to Mombasa, via Nairobi.  There’s virtually no time difference, so fortunately jet-lag wasn’t an issue.  We had four days at the beach where Malcolm taught himself to sail while I read “The Book Thief” with reckless abandon.
